Capital of Texas Chapter was awarded "2012 Outstanding Chartered Chapter of the Year"
at the National Charity League, Inc. Annual Leadership Conference

Capital of Texas Chapter, formed in 2004 led by our founding President, Carol Nex, and chartered in 2006, was the second NCL chapter formed in Austin.  There are currently four NCL chapters in the Austin area.  Monthly meetings for the mothers are held in a central Austin location - near Capital of Texas Highway and Westlake Drive – and our daughters meet by grade levels at various locations.

What makes Capital of Texas Chapter unique?  We have made diversity a priority in our membership and our philanthropies.  We strive to maintain a diverse chapter and encourage our members to look beyond their immediate circle of friends to build connections and relationships with girls from all over the Austin area.  Our current membership represents over 30 schools across Austin and surrounding areas.  We are not a fund-raising chapter, we support our 20 philanthropy partners by mothers and daughters serving the Austin community together.

In true Austin style, we like to keep things casual and fun (and maybe a little weird at times!) so don't think you'll need any fancy ball gowns - we keep it real!

You’ll definitely notice us working around town in our red shirts, and always in mother/daughter teams.  We are not a fund-raising chapter; we provide assistance and (wo)manpower to our philanthropy partners through the donation of our time, organizational and leadership skills.

Capital of Texas Chapter currently partners with 20 Austin area philanthropies.  Check out "Our Philanthropies" for more details about the wonderful organizations that we currently support. As you will see, we also strive for diversity in our philanthropies.  We are passionate about volunteering for organizations that are addressing a wide range of social concerns and needs in our community including Children, Culture/Art, Disabled, Domestic Violence, Education, Family, Healthcare, Homeless, Military, Seniors and Women.
